How to sync accounts receivable between Melio and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

Connecting your accounting software to your receivables platform will save you time and reduce errors.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central has been added to the list of accounting software that can be synced to your Melio accounts receivables platform. 

By syncing Melio Get Paid and Business Central, you can:

  • Eliminate the need to register receivables on more than one platform.
  • Import invoices from Business Central to Melio, along with corresponding customer information. 
  • Automatically reconcile incoming payments. 

Note: Once synced, any changes to invoices still needs to be done in your Business Central accounting software.

There are two main methods for syncing Melio AR and Business Central:

Method 1: If you are not yet synced to an accounting software

  1. In the Get Paid tab, click +New Invoice.
  2. You’ll be given the option of how you want to add your invoices. Click Connect your accounting software

  3. Select Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and click Connect.

  4. You'll be taken to your Business Central login page and required to allow Melio to install an extension to access your data. Once you’ve given Melio the required permission, you’ll be taken back to Melio to finish the sync.

  5. You’ll now need to match your bank details in Melio with those in Business Central. Click the arrow next to Select account and choose an account from the list or add a new one. Then choose Link my bank account

  6. If you only have one bank account in your Melio, this account will automatically be added to your Business Central. Click Continue.

  7. You’ll be notified once the sync is complete.

  8. After the sync is complete, you can view all of your customer invoices in the Get Paid tab.

  9. On the settings page, click Accounting Software Sync to see that Dynamics 365 is connected.

Method 2: From your Settings page

  1. Go to the Settings section in your Melio account and choose Accounting Software Sync.
  2. Click Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

  3. You'll be taken to your Business Central login page and required to allow Melio to install an extension to access your data. Once you’ve given Melio the required permission, you’ll be taken back to Melio to finish the sync.

  4. You’ll now need to match your bank details in Melio with those in Business Central. Click the arrow next to Select account and choose an account from the list or add a new one. Then choose Link my bank account
