When your ACH payment through Melio is complete, it gets a Nacha trace number. This 15-digit confirmation number is provided by the funding bank and identifies the payment.
You can give the Nacha trace number to your vendor as proof of payment. It also assures you that the Nacha scheme (National Automated Clearinghouse Association) has managed your payment.
Both payors and vendors can use the trace number to track and find the payment. They can present the Nacha to the receiving bank in order to locate the payment in question.
Here’s how to find your Nacha trace number:
- Sign in to your Melio account.
- Click Pay in the left sidebar.
- Go to the Payments tab.
- Find the relevant payment, click View payment.
- In the payment details page on the right, under VENDOR RECEIVED the trace number appears under the delivery method.
