When you connect your Melio and Quickbooks accounts, payments automatically sync between the two platforms. However, if you're experiencing issues where payments in QuickBooks aren't showing up in Melio, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem.
Bills older than 60 days
Melio only syncs payments edited or created in the last 60 days. To sync older payments, you’ll need to edit them in your QuickBooks account to trigger a sync with Melio. This can be a simple edit like adding a letter to a vendor's name, which should make the payment appear in your Melio account.
Manually Sync your QuickBooks account
If newer payments aren’t appearing either, you can try manually syncing your QuickBooks account. Here’s how:
- Select Settings from the left sidebar followed by Accounting Software Sync.
- Click Sync now to manually sync your Melio and QuickBooks accounts. It may take up to 5 minutes for the manual sync to complete.
Disconnect and re-sync your QuickBooks Account
If you still aren’t seeing payments, try disconnecting and re-syncing your QuickBooks account.
- Select Settings from the left sidebar followed by Accounting Software Sync.
- Click Disconnect to disconnect your Melio and QuickBooks accounts.
3. Go back to Accounting Software Sync.
4. Select your version of QuickBooks and click Connect.
Note: Syncing accounts payable (A/R) and accounts receivable (A/P)
With Quickbooks Online you can sync both your A/R and A/P. Quickbooks Desktop only allows you to sync your A/R.
5. Sign in to QuickBooks using your user ID and password.
Once reconnected, payments should sync between your QuickBooks and Melio accounts.
