How secure is Melio?

  • Updated

We make it our top priority to be the safest and most secure platform at hand.

Whether you’re using Melio to send checks, paying via ACH or with your credit card, we make sure your and your vendors’ financial and private details are always secure.

How we protect you

Account security

Our payment protection starts the moment you sign up for Melio, with multi-factor authentication to protect your account from unauthorized access. When you sign up, 2-step verification sends a 4-digit PIN to your email address, which helps safeguard your account.

PCI compliant

Melio is fully compliant with the Payment Card Industry- Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), which is designed to protect your sensitive credit card data. We do not store any sensitive credit card information on the servers but use Tabapay, a certified Level 1 card processor (the highest level of certification in the payments industry). Melio and our 3rd party card processor test the system daily to ensure security.

Safe and secure technology

We’ve invested in robust security technology and have built it into every aspect of Melio’s platform. Your payments are encrypted through state-of-the-art cryptographic algorithms to protect from hackers. Our servers are kept in PCI and SOC 1, 2, and 3 compliant data centers with 24x7 monitoring.

Check protection

Melio’s check protection keeps your checks secure from issue date until they’re delivered to your vendor. You and your vendors’ sensitive details don’t appear on the check, protecting you from fraud. Checks are actively tracked, and you get updated when they’re sent, delivered and deposited.

Global banking partners

Putting your trust in Melio means you’re in good hands. We’ve partnered with some of the largest and most stable banks across the globe to ensure your funds are never at risk. Our portfolio includes Evolve Bank & Trust and JPMorgan Chase Bank.

Security as a culture

All Melio employees undergo intensive security training. Melio’s development team follows a strict SDLC (software development life cycle) process which includes security validations and automatic penetration tests.

We have a team of dedicated risk & compliance reps who validate users and transactions, conduct due diligence when required, and handle all matters related to AML (Anti-Money Laundering).
