How to upgrade a subscription plan

Upgrading your Melio subscription plan gives you more.

  • More features: You get features and capabilities that weren’t available in a lower-tier plan. See the full list of features available to the different plans
  • More  Access: More team members mean increased productivity. Please note that the Go plan grants account access only to the Owner role. While premium plans allow multiple team members to access the account.
  • Better Customer Experience: Premium subscribers get access to priority support ensuring faster response times and more support channels.

 

When will the upgrade go into effect?

Immediately. When you upgrade your plan, the changes take effect right away. 

 

How is the billing calculated?

If you upgrade your plan in the middle of the billing cycle, we will calculate how many days until the next billing cycle will be affected by the upgrade.  

This amount will then be added to your next subscription bill, ensuring you only pay for the time you use the new plan.

Let’s see an example:

  • Your current plan: Core, includes 1 user, monthly billing cycle, $25 per month
  • Upgraded plan: Boost, includes 1 user, monthly billing cycle, $55 per month
  • Time of upgrade: May 15th

The monthly cycle is 30 days. Therefore, there are 15 days left for the current billing cycle.

 

  • Billing for the Boost plan for May: Boost plan fee * (number of days left in May/monthly cycle) 
  • Credit for the Core plan in May: Core plan fee * number of days used in May/monthly cycle)
  • Billing difference for May: $55*(15/30) - $25*(15/30)= $27.5- $12.5= $15. Since billing is per month upfront, we’ll add the May difference to the billing for June.

 

Total subscription fees for June:

Additional billing for May + June’s subscription fee for the Boost plan= $15 + $55= $70

 

Do I need to upgrade my plan to allow more team members to access my account?

That depends on your current subscription plan.

If you’re a Go subscriber, you have to upgrade your plan to grant access to team members.

If you’re subscribed to the Core or Boost plans, you can add more users to your account, without upgrading.

 

How to upgrade your plan

Like any other setting in your Melio account, you can change the plan you’re subscribed to from Settings.

1. Sign in to your Melio account.

2. Click Settings in the left sidebar.

3. Scroll down to Payments & billing.

4. Click Plans.

5. In Current plan on the right, you can see the details of the plan you’re subscribed to now.

Note: Changing the number of users instead of the plan.

You can change the number of team members who have access to your Melio account without changing the plan.

Remember, it’s impossible to add users to the Go plan. This plan allows access to one team member only- the owner.

To grant more or less team members access to your account: 

  1. Click Manage under Users.
  2. Follow these steps to add/remove a team member.

6. Click the three dots and select Manage plans.

 

7. In Choose a plan that’s right for you, the current plan is marked with the label Active plan

8. Choose if the subscription fees will be deducted Monthly or Annually. 

9. Click Upgrade in the selected plan.

 

10. In Upgrade to X popup, you see all the features that will be available to you in the higher-tier plan. Click Confirm upgrade

 

That’s it, you’ve successfully upgraded your plan.

Click Get started and enjoy using your improved Melio account.
