How to connect your bank account automatically with Plaid in the Melio app

Before making payments, you’ll first need to link your bank account, a credit or debit card. Connecting your bank account automatically using Plaid only takes a couple of minutes. Plaid is connected to the top 100 banks in the US.

Here’s how to do it:

• iOS users 
• Android users 

iOS users

With the Melio iOS app, you can connect your bank account either:

1. When making a payment. 
2. From Settings.

Adding your bank account when making a payment

1. Choose an existing bill, add a new bill or pay without a bill. 
2. Tap Pay.
3. When asked what you want to Pay with, tap Bank account. 

NOTE: Payment method is pre-selected

When you already have a verified bank account connected, it will be selected automatically.
To change your bank account:

• Tap Change in the right top corner of the Pay with box.
• Tap +Add another bank account.

4. Select Connect instantly.
5. You’ll be taken to the first screen of Plaid. Complete the steps to allow Plaid to link your bank account and tap Continue.
6. Complete payment details and Slide to pay.

Adding your bank account from Settings

1. Go to Settings. 
2. Select Payment methods.
3. Tap Bank account or Add another bank account.
4. Tap Connect instantly.
5. You’ll be taken to the first screen of Plaid. Complete the steps to allow Plaid to link your bank account and tap Continue.

Your bank account is now added and ready to use for payments.

NOTE: Can’t find your bank on the list?

You must connect and verify your bank account manually if you can’t find your bank on the list.

Android users

With the Melio Android app, you can only connect your bank account when making a payment.

Here’s how:

1. Choose an unpaid bill, scan an invoice or add a new bill.
2. Tap Pay.
3. When asked what you want to Pay with, tap Bank account. 

NOTE: Payment method is pre-selected

When you already have a verified bank account connected, it will be selected automatically.
To change your bank account:

• Tap Change in the right top corner of the Pay with box.
• Tap Bank account.

4. Select Instantly with Plaid.

5. You’ll be taken to the first screen of Plaid. Complete the steps to allow Plaid to link your bank account. Close the page and return to your Melio app.

6. Tap Continue.

7. Complete payment details and Slide to pay.

NOTE: Can’t find your bank on the list?

You must connect and verify your bank account manually if you can’t find your bank on the list.
